Brokerage Rates

Brokerage Services -- Full Service Rate Schedule

Nestlerode & Loy, Inc., has a number of commissioned sales representatives. They earn their living by assisting investors with their investment transactions. To this end they can analyze your financial situation and make appropriate recommendations designed to assist you in achieving your financial goals. Of course, no one can guarantee investment results. However, investors are usually well served by dealing with an investment professional for their transactions, receiving recommendations and having their account serviced. The cost of doing business is one concern, but not the primary consideration voiced by investors when dealing with a brokerage industry.

The commission table below is a summary of our full service rate table which is many pages long. If you have a question about what a specific transaction will cost, you can get the exact information from your representative or anyone at Nestlerode & Loy, Inc. Just call us, email us, or send us a request via fax.

A majority of our income as a full service brokerage firm and the income for our representatives is derived from commissioned transactions. We do not recommend that clients make small transactions or that they trade often. We recommend that clients make transactions that have relatively small commissions on a percentage of the total transaction.

Your representative can analyze the cost of doing full service transactions with our firm to make sure that the cost of your transactions is reasonable and not preclude you from achieving your investment goals.

Mutual fund transactions costs, commonly called sales charges, are set by agreement between the mutual fund marketing organization and Nestlerode & Loy, Inc. Mutual funds generally charge the same sales charges to every brokerage firm. As with stock transactions, we will discuss the sales charge and any other cost related to buying and holding mutual funds before any purchase or sale. Any investor should read the prospectus carefully before investing. Likewise sales charges for annuities will be fully disclosed before any transaction is completed.

What do clients expect from a Brokerage Firm?

A study by the survey firm Yankelovich Partners, completed in 1995 for the Securities Industry Association, found that clients believed that the following factors, in order of importance, were more influential than cost in determining the brokerage firm with which they would deal:

  • Providing easy access to client account information.

  • Keeping clients' best interest at heart in making or suggesting investments.

  • Returning calls promptly.

  • Maintaining a track record of strong performance.

  • Keeping clients regularly informed about their investment performance.

Fees and commissions ranked sixth in the study. Even in sixth place, however, fees are important to investors. Therefore, we have provided a summary of our full service fee schedule for your review.

Finally, we exist to serve your investment needs. Clients are encouraged to select the way they deal with us that serves their needs. Some clients use both full service brokerage and investment management services. Our job is to make our investment services work for you. Please let us know how we can serve you best.

Sales or transaction charges for mutual fund purchases are governed by the selling agreement between the mutual fund distributor and Nestlerode & Loy, Inc. All mutual fund fees (including sales charges, 12b-1 fees and contingent deferred sales charges) are described in the mutual fund prospectus and are available from all our representatives upon request. As a full service brokerage firm, no load mutual funds are only available in our fee-based managed accounts.

Commission rates for municipal bonds, government bonds and corporate bonds available upon request.
